With the temperature in Arizona getting back to comfortable levels, October is a great time for the Copperstate Regional EAA Fly-in. The National Weather service projects the average high temperature during the event should drop to a balmy 80 degrees. Along with the usual blue skies, expect perfect weather forwandering the rows of antique, classic, and homebuilt aircraft, not to mention the opportunity to peruse the latest offerings from the wide variety of aviation vendors. Over 600 aircraft will head to the Casa Grande Municipal Airport for this event. Show goers will again have the opportunity to see the stunning airplanes displayed on the ground as well as having the opportunity to see (and hear) those same airplanes in the air. Again, Copperstate is issuing an invitation to builders, restorers, and new aircraft manufactures to demonstrate their creations in front of the crowd, during dedicated air time segments specifically set aside for that purpose. Copperstate volunteers, in cooperation with the FAA Flight Standards District Office and FAA Tower officials, have developed a program that will not only keep the airport open all day, every day, but which will give virtually every Fly-In participant the chance to fly in front of the crowd. That is the experience Copperstate will give you at this years event Fly-In pilots wont be just attending the show, they will be part of it. For the general public this event is unique in that there is the opportunity for young and old to get up close to new and old airplanes. For the veteran there will be restorations of famous military aircraft and for youth there will be everything from the very popular powered parachutes to racing machines that might be used at the National Air Races. Special youth activities and opportunities in aviation will be showcased. Vendors of aircraft products, food, and souvenirs abound as this is the largest aviation trade show in the area. Bring the family. The 2008 event will again be held at Casa Grande Municipal Airport (CGZ), ideally located midway between Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona, just a few miles west of Interstate 10. All the usual amenities will be available...rental cars and motel shuttles available on the field, and a myriad of hotels, restaurants, and other activities nearby. This will be an aviation event like no
other. Plan to be there!
